Your February home checklist

Your February home checklist

It's time to say goodbye to cold and snowy January in favor of February, the month filled with candy hearts and the hope of spring. Even though the weather is still chilly, the days are getting longer! To ensure that your home is in tip-top shape for the month of February, take a look at some of these helpful tips.

  • Create a bedroom oasis: Nothing says romantic like a comfortable and attractive bedroom. If you're looking for a new bedroom set, why not try selecting a pink and red ensemble? Be sure that your new bedding corresponds with your custom window fashions.
  • Prepare for spring cleaning: Spring will be here before you know it! Prepare ahead of time to ensure that your spring cleaning goes smoothly. Stock up on cleaning supplies and ensure that all of your cleaning equipment, ranging from brooms to dish towels, are in great shape.
  • Stock your kitchen: If you plan on baking sweet treats for Valentine's Day, be sure that you have a clean and adequately stocked kitchen. Visit craft shops or your local grocery store for frosting, cookie sheets and mixing bowls.
  • Sweep your floors: "If the winters are chilly where you live, you know how grimy road salt and melted snow can leave your floors, especially in high-traffic areas," writes Houzz.com contributor Laura Gaskill. "After giving these areas a thorough cleaning, stow your supplies nearby so it's easy to sweep floors regularly."
