Spring has finally sprung! We've suffered through quite a harsh winter in New York, so it's time to look forward to ice cream cones, flowers and strolls in Central Park. To celebrate the first day of spring, we've spelled out a few fresh decorating tips that will bring a pop of pizzazz to your house or apartment:

  • Clean up your entryway: Know how to make an entrance this spring! Start by cleaning up your home's entry way – wiping off any mud, putting away heavy wool coats and sweeping any street salt that your boots may have dragged in during the winter. Then, to stay organized all spring long, add some stylish hooks and coat racks to the area.
  • Create your own vase: "Floral foam and glass marbles aren't the only ways to hold flowers aloft. Instead, a bunch of vintage milk bottles gives [a flower arrangement] its structure," writes a blogger for Country Living. "Simply line up nine same-size vessels in three rows of three. Then wrap gardener's twine around the grouping twice and tie the ends." Fill the vase with brightly colored flowers, such as tulips or lilacs.
  • Decorate with pastels: Pastel colors and springtime go hand in hand. Get your home ready for springtime by adding light pink, pale purple or baby blue decor to the mix. Pastel window fashions look great! You can even make over an outdated piece of furniture by picking up pastel paint from your local craft store.
