Light, cool-toned hues steal the show at ACM Awards

Did you tune in to see the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards this past Sunday night? If so, both your ears and eyes were in for a treat. One trend we noticed while watching the award show was the prevalence of light, cool-toned hues on the red carpet. Learn how to apply these lovely colors to your home:

  • Powder blue: "Kacey Musgraves looked like a modern day Cinderella as she stepped out on the red carpet in a full, powder blue gown for the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena," writes Katrina Mitzeliotis of HollywoodLife. "The songstress, (who was nominated for four awards), channeled a Disney princess in her dress."
  • Lavender: Lavender is this year's "it" pastel color since it corresponds nicely with Radiant Orchid. Kellie Pickler looked lovely in  a lavender Romona Keveza gown. This soft and feminine shade will look exquisite in nearly every room in your home, ranging from a bathroom to the bedroom. In addition to looking classy, lavender has tranquil properties and can help ease your mind.
  • Slate blue: For those who want a neutral take on pastel, slate blue is a great option. In fact, many designers have named this color a "new neutral." Faith Hill showed off this gorgeous trend in a stunning Saint Laurent long-sleeve gown. We think that this shade looks excellent in the home! Opt to paint an entire room this subtle color or simple select from slate blue custom curtains and drapes.
