Last-minute Super Bowl decorating ideas

Last-minute Super Bowl decorating ideas

It's a big weekend for the metro New York area, since Sunday's Super Bowl will be held in New Jersey's Met Life Stadium. You can just feel the excitement in the air! Even though the Giants aren't in the big game this year, you can still celebrate this occasion. After all, who doesn't like an excuse to throw a party? Chances are the bars and restaurants in New York will be packed with unruly fans. Instead of dodging the crowds, take a look at these last-minute decorating tips for throwing a fun-filled Super Bowl party in your own home.

  • Coasters: Just because you're offering to throw a party that doesn't mean you have to ruin your chic furnishings. Be sure to have plenty of coasters available to protect your end and coffee tables from getting stained. You may also want to purchase a stylish slip-cover for your sofa, which allows for easier cleanup in case any of your guests accidently spill their food or drink.
  • Creative food: You don't have to pick sides if your favorite team won't be playing on Sunday. Instead, decorate with colors that are symbolic of the whole football field. "Brown and green are very easy to work with and build around. There's a lot of cool food in green, like guacamole, so there's a fun way to incorporate the colors and the game into your table setting or your food without really having to go the team colors," party planner Ariana Stecker tells NY1 News.
