How to spring clean your powder room

How to spring clean your powder room

Now that spring has sprung, it's time to adhere to your cleaning regimen. Although no one enjoys cleaning the bathroom, this sure is a necessity and in addition to increasing the aesthetic of your space, it can also affect your health and wellness. Take a look at some ways to perfect your powder room:

  1. Throw away what you don't need: Is your medicine cabinet looking a bit cluttered? It's important to purge old and outdated items regularly – especially if they're related to health and beauty. You don't want to accidently ingest old medicine or use expired makeup, so be sure to check the date on every item!
  2. Scrub a dub, dub!: Do you love taking relaxing baths? Well, it's important to make sure your bathtub is in great shape and free of mold and mildew. Although bath salts, oils and colloidal oatmeal are very soothing, these products can often leave residue in your tub so it's essential to clean it regularly. Once you give your tub good scrub, then you can sit back and relax with a glass of wine and soak in the bubbles.
  3. Vacuum: Cleanliness is important, especially in the bathroom. "Use a vacuum attachment to clean the vanity lights and window treatments," writes Houzz.com contributor Laura Gaskill. "If your vanity has exposed bulbs, use a soft cloth to wipe them clean. Take down your shower curtain and wash it with a few towels (the towels will help agitate the curtain to get it cleaner)."
